Hostages killed in Nigeria during special forces raid

 

While flying from Belgrade back to Rome this afternoon, Prime Minister Mario Monti received a phone call from British Prime Minister David Cameron, who informed him of the tragic result of a failed rescue bid. The rescue bid was carried out by Nigerian forces support by British ones and addressed at freeing hostages kidnapped on May 12th 2011 in Birkin Kebin, the Italian Franco Lamolinara and British citizen Christopher Mc Manus. The operation failed sadly and according to British reports the hostages were killed by the kidnappers.
