Glenn Mulcaire, the private investigator who worked for the News of the World, has been ordered by the High Court to reveal who instructed him to hack celebrities' phones.
Mulcaire, who was jailed in 2007 for hacking the phones of aides to Prince William, has been told he must reveal which staff at the News of the World ordered him to hack the phones of six public figures.
They are Elle MacPherson, the model; Simon Hughes, the deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats; Max Clifford, the celebrity PR agent; Sky Andrew, the football agent; Jo Armstrong, a legal adviser to the Professional Footballers Association; and Gordon Taylor, the former head of the PFA.
The action was brought by Steve Coogan, the comedian who is thought to be a victim of phone hacking.
It is understood Muclaire will 'name names' by the end of next week. It has emerged on August 1 he lost an appeal against a court order obliging him to identify his handlers at the newspaper and has been refused leave to appeal.
He is still appealing a seperate order instructing him to name who ordered the hacking of Coogan's phone. A hearing is listed for October.
