Girlfriend of Taser death bodybuilder Dale Burns in shock

THE girlfriend of a ­bodybuilder who died after being Tasered by police says she is in “total shock”.

A postmortem has been carried out on Dale Burns, 27, but it failed to establish a cause of death.

Dale died hours after he was Tasered three times in his flat as officers tried to arrest him on suspicion of criminal damage.


His girlfriend Sarah Keverne, 32, who confirmed Dale had taken steroids, said: “He was the love of my life.”

Sarah, mum of Dale’s two-year-old son Ethan, added: “He was just a lovely bloke and a real gym freak.

“I’m just in total shock. We loved him very much. He will be missed so much.”

He was also subdued with pepper spray by officers in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. He later said he felt unwell and was taken to hospital, where he died on Tuesday.

The IPCC police watchdog said that more tests were being carried out.
